A fot\u00f3olvas\u00e1s sor\u00e1n a szem\u00e9lyek egy speci\u00e1lis n\u00e9z\u00e9si f\u00f3kusz (\u201efot\u00f3f\u00f3kusz\u201d) seg\u00edts\u00e9g\u00e9vel a sz\u00f6veg m\u00f6g\u00e9 f\u00f3kusz\u00e1lva dolgozz\u00e1k fel a bemutatott inform\u00e1ci\u00f3t. Azonban \u00edgy a fot\u00f3olvasott inform\u00e1ci\u00f3 nem ker\u00fcl tudatos feldolgoz\u00e1sra. Felt\u00e9telez\u00e9s\u00fcnk szerint, amennyiben val\u00f3ban t\u00f6rt\u00e9nik tudat alatti feldolgoz\u00e1s a fot\u00f3olvas\u00e1s sor\u00e1n, eml\u00e9kezeti rendszereinkr\u0151l val\u00f3 jelenlegi tud\u00e1sunk alapj\u00e1n annak h\u00e1tter\u00e9ben kiz\u00e1r\u00f3lag az \u00fan. el\u0151fesz\u00edt\u00e9si jelens\u00e9g \u00e1llhat. Az el\u0151fesz\u00edt\u00e9si jelens\u00e9g vizsg\u00e1lat\u00e1ra klasszikusan leggyakrabban alkalmazott m\u00f3dszert, a sz\u00f3t\u00f6red\u00e9k \u00e9s sz\u00f3t\u0151 kieg\u00e9sz\u00edt\u00e9s feladatot v\u00e1lasztottuk a fot\u00f3olvas\u00e1s el\u0151fesz\u00edt\u00e9si hat\u00e1s\u00e1nak vizsg\u00e1lat\u00e1ra. T\u00f6bb eredm\u00e9ny\u00fcnk is abba az ir\u00e1nyba mutat, hogy a fot\u00f3olvas\u00e1s val\u00f3ban fejt ki el\u0151fesz\u00edt\u00e9si hat\u00e1st, ami mind a szavakra adott helyes v\u00e1laszok ar\u00e1nyaiban, mind a szem\u00e9lyek teljes\u00edtm\u00e9ny\u00e9ben tetten \u00e9rhet\u0151 \u00e9s konzisztens hat\u00e1s. Scheele. According to him, this method allows for the unconscious processing of 25.000 words per second, which in turn helps in the subsequent concious processing of the photoread content. According to proponents of the method, this improvement is more pronounced 24 hours after photoreading. We tested whether priming effects are measureable when 44 words are presented simultanously (unlike in most priming experiments when only one word is primed in a trial). Participants had to photoread 2&#215;44 words presented periferally on the screen, while visually focusing behind the center of the screen, thus not consiously perceiving any of the words. After photoreading, participants had to complete word stems and word fragments. Half of the trials contained stems\/fragments that could be completed to a word previously presented during photoreading, while the other half of the stems\/fragments could only be completed to words previously not presented. The critical measure was whether participants completed more words correctly if they were primed during photoreading, and also whether the correct guesses came faster when completing words that were primed previously. Our results showed that a small but systematic gain was associated with photoreading, and an interaction with word frequency was also present, which is typical in stem\/fragment completion tasks. In accordance with the technique of photoreading, these effects can be seen only after a 24 hours delay.
