Widespread availability of cheap computers accelerated psychophysical research as well. To display stimuli, initially the relative cheap cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors were used. Recently the more and more prevalent and cheaper liquid-crystal display (LCD) monitors are used to show visual stimuli. Both monitor types have advantages and disadvantages originating from the working principle, which has a deep impact on the perception and on the reaction to the visual stimuli. In our work the two monitor types were compared.
