In examining explicit bias we also focused on sex and age differences. To measure impliticit attitudes we used the Semantic Selectivity Test, a half-projective instrument, which examines connections between meanings. The Attitudes Toward Obese Persons (ATOP) scale was used to explore explicit attitudes. The behaviour traits of eating disorders were measured by the Eating Disorders Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q). By convenience sampling 62 participants were included (40 male, 22 female). The results confirmed our hypothesis that there is no significant correlation between implicit and explicit attitudes towards obesity therefore they are independent contructs. The presence of disordered eating patterns had no significant effect on the extent of implicit and explicit attitudes. The hypotheses that the presence of disordered eating patterns is more robust in women and that elderly people have less negative explicit attitudes towards obesity, were supported.

Keywords: stigma, explicit attitudes, implicit attitudes, disordered eating patterns, SST, ATOP, EDE-Q

« Vissza a tartalomjegyzékhez

Erdész Anett ELTE Pedagógiai és Pszichológiai Kar, Pszichológiai Intézet Vizsgálatunk célja, hogy rávilágítson a túlsúlyos személyekkel szembeni implicit, valamint explicit attitűdök feltételezett különbözőségére, figyelembe véve a rendellenes étkezéses viselkedést.
